- Audio recordings (captured only when you explicitly initiate a recording)
- Photographs and images
- Text notes and written descriptions
- Sketches and annotations
Collaboration data: Information shared between you and other users when creating mutual records ("bynds"), including acknowledgements and confirmations.
Communications: Messages you send to us, such as support requests, feedback, or enquiries.
Payment information: If you subscribe to paid features, payment details are processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store complete payment card details.
b. Information Collected Automatically
Device information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, app version, and mobile network information.
Log data: IP address, access times, pages viewed, app features used, and referring URLs.
Usage data: How you interact with the Services, including features used, actions taken, and session duration.
Diagnostic data: Crash reports and performance data to help us improve the Services.
c. Information from Third Parties
We may receive limited information from third-party services we use to operate the app, including:

Important: We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your content to train AI models beyond providing the Services to you.
3. Audio Recording and Processing
Bynding allows you to capture audio recordings as part of creating agreement records. We want to be transparent about how this works:
When recording occurs:
- Recording only begins when you explicitly tap the record button
- Recording never starts automatically or in the background
- Visual and audio indicators clearly show when recording is active
- You can stop recording at any time
Consent requirements:
- A "bynd" (mutual record) is only created when both parties explicitly confirm and acknowledge the content
- The other party must accept participation before a shared record is created
- Either party can decline to participate at any time
How audio is processed:
- Audio files are securely uploaded to our cloud infrastructure
- Transcription is performed using third-party AI services
- AI-generated summaries are provided to help you review content
- You can review and edit transcriptions before finalising a record
4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)
We process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: Processing necessary to provide the Services you have requested.
- Legitimate interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate business interests (e.g., improving our Services, preventing fraud), where these are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligations: Processing necessary to comply with laws and regulations.
- Consent: Where you have given explicit consent for specific processing activities (e.g., AI transcription of recordings).
5. Data Sharing
We may share your information with:
Other users: When you create a mutual record with another user, both parties have access to the shared content.

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only as directed by us.

Bynd records: Retention periods vary by subscription tier. Typical retention periods range from 30 days for free accounts to several years for premium subscriptions. Current retention periods for each tier are displayed in your account settings and on our pricing page.
Post-termination: After account deletion, we may retain certain data for a limited period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
